How to Take Pictures in Galaxy's Edge with (Virtually) No People
Everyone wants a great picture of the Millennium Falcon, but if you haven’t been to Galaxy’s Edge yet, you can’t understand how overwhelmingly crowded it is during the day. It is completely impossible to get pictures without tons of people in the background. I’m not a claustrophobic person, but at times I felt almost claustrophobic walking around. The theming of everything is AMAZING here, so you want to take lots of pictures. However, the amount of people makes it difficult.
Instead of trying to take our pictures during the middle of the day, my parents and I decided to come back later. We got in line for Slinky Dog Dash right before they cut off the line for park closing. (This was super cool because you could see Galaxy’s Edge and the lights on the rocks from the coaster.) Because this line didn’t take very long, we also got to stop and watch the last bit of the fireworks show from the entrance of Toy Story Land. When we were there, the walkway between Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge was closed. Galaxy’s Edge had only been open a month, and they were trying to control the crowds between the sections.
As castmembers were herding guests to the front of the park to leave, my parents and I walked back to Galaxy’s Edge to get pictures and to be able to look around without hoards of people everywhere. Obviously all of the shops and restaurants were closed, but you can see everything. There was basically no one there, and I got all the pictures I wanted.
Not a single person in the background! |
So… long story short, take your time leaving the park and head to Galaxy’s Edge to get pictures with virtually no people in the background. Another perk of going at night is all of the lights shining on the rocks. It’s beautiful!
