Vacation Spot: Nantahala, North Carolina
Hey, everybody! My name is Liz, and I’m Hannah’s younger sister. She
asked me to write a guest blog post for her website, so here I am. (I
know...I’m the best sister ever right?!) Anyways, back to the point. I
recently took a senior girls trip to Nantahala, North Carolina, with my
best friends and a couple of their moms. It was one the most fun trips
I’ve been on, and I wanted to share some of the wonderful things we did!
During our trip, we stayed at the Appalachian Lodge, a beautiful cabin that overlooks the magnificent Nantahala Mountains. The cabin even comes equipped with a hot tub, which we spent almost every night in lol. My birthday just so happened to be during this trip, and my friends did not fail in making it a special one! On the first day there, we celebrated my birthday by going tubing down the Nantahala River. You can rent tubes fairly cheap and spend all day floating down the rapids.
The next thing on our agenda was Dollywood, so the next morning we got
up and drove to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee! Dollywood was one of my
favorite parts of this trip. My friends and I rode so many roller
coasters that day-I’m surprised we didn’t get sick! Unfortunately, all
of the show attractions were shut down due to coronavirus. Regardless,
we still had a great time looking in shops, admiring the southern look,
and riding rides.
My favorite activity of the entire trip was rafting down the Nantahala
River. You may think that rafting and tubing are basically the same, but
rafting is like tubing to the extreme. Our raft guide, from Brookside
Camping & Rafting in Topton, NC, was one of the kindest people I
have ever met.
